Curriculum

St Martin’s meets the needs of a wide range of students, our earliest communicators are working at pre-Entry level and other students are working towards level 2 qualifications.

Our curriculum is highly personalised to meet the needs of our students, encourage them to reach their communication potential and be as independent as they can be in adult life. Teachers and therapists have worked together to develop a curriculum that enables our students to be working on the most useful and beneficial skills at all times.

Our curriculum contains four sections;

Communication skills, Wellbeing skills, Independent living skills and Work skills.

Within each section there are a number of different courses that students, teacher and therapists work together to select the most suitable course for them. All students will be studying a minimum of 4 course and a maximum of 6 courses.

Teachers and therapists work together to write a personalised long term plan, this will map the path we expect students will make from their baseline assessments to their end points.
